When will my order ship?

I can ship 6 days a week. I typically ship most things on Wednesdays. Prints and books usually ship the fastest, and original paintings take a while to get ready. I sometimes build custom boxes for them, and if they have frames I might have to double-box them. I recommend ordering 2 weeks before you need prints, books, oracle decks, etc. and 3 weeks before you need originals. This gives me, and the post office, plenty of time to figure it out.

How long does shipping take?

This varies and is totally out of my control. Once I hand it to the mail carrier it's up to them to move it. In the United States the USPS takes 2-3 business days for most places. Maybe 4-5 in Alaska or Hawaii. Canada and Mexico are usually 6-10 days, and everywhere else it may take about 2 weeks. If customs nabs your package, it might be up to 2 months before you receive it. They are definitely naughty South Pole elves, but I don't have any control over what they do or how slowly they do it.

Will I be charged duties/VAT/import taxes?

Customers in the United States should never have to pay to receive their package. In other countries you might have to pay, sorry. This is another thing I don't have any control over, and I can't lie on the package and say it's a gift or it only cost $1 so you don't have to pay anything for it. I could lose my mail privileges entirely for lying!

Returns are on a very limited case-by-case basis. If I made a mistake, I will always fix it. If you changed your mind, it’s another story. I’m a very small business (usually 1 person and some part-time help if I’m lucky!) and accepting all returns would be unsustainable. Sorry.

Can I return my order?

Insurance is automatically applied to all Priority Mail shipments, shipments over $50, and shipments of original paintings. If you don't select Priority Mail for orders under $50, then you won't get insurance.

Is my order insured?

It depends on what you order! Books and 8"x10" or smaller prints are usually packed in flat literature boxes or padded bubble envelopes. I wrap things up in bags, unbleached recycled paper, recycled bubble wrap, and recycled or biodegradable air pockets. 13"x19" and larger prints are shipped rolled up in a skinny cardboard box or a tube, and original paintings are usually in oversized boxes with lots of packing material, and some are shipped double-boxed. I hate seeing things arrive damaged, so I take packing them pretty seriously. I use recycled materials as much as I can, but biodegradable plastic bags are not archival or acid-free and may ruin the art. I encourage reusing the plastic bags if you can. They are great for storing photos and documents!

I have been doing this for a long time now and I take packing very seriously. I tend to really overpack everything and have only had something arrive damaged once in 14 years of selling my art online.

How is my order packed?

You choose who processes it during the checkout process. You can choose PayPal or Stripe. In either case, we (me, Luke, or anyone else helping me) never see your card details and we don't store them.

(Obviously if you buy things at a show we’ll be processing your card ourselves, but we use Square for that. We don’t store your credit card details in either case.)
