Dragon*Con Wrap-Up

Whew! Dragon*con is over and with that, the 2019 show season is over for me as well. This year I opted to do fewer shows than last year. Last year’s show schedule was grueling and I couldn’t keep up that pace this year, so I skipped a lot of smaller local events that I participated in last year. Next year I hope to participate in more events and some outside of Georgia, but it’s early to announce anything yet.

I was so happy to return to Dragon*Con this year and participate in the new art show. The art show management changed this year and I think it was a big improvement from my point of view, although some people were unhappy the auction was gone. I don’t know if the auction will come back next year, but I hope to participate again. It’s a juried event and I never know if I will pass the jury or not. Sometimes my art just isn’t their cup of tea! Fingers crossed, since it is one of my favorite shows.

Unfortunately I got really sick after Dragon*con and I am playing catch-up now. I hardly ever catch “con crud” so I was surprised I got so sick and was definitely not planning on taking a week off to recuperate. I am still coughing quite a bit but feeling fine otherwise! Here are some pictures I took during DC. I spent a lot of time over the summer upgrading and revising the booth equipment and layout, and I think it really looks pretty snazzy. I’m excited to take it on the road again next year.

My husband Luke is the best show assistant I’ve ever had, but he makes taking serious pictures of the booth a little difficult sometimes!

By the last day we were out of a lot of popular prints and running low on everything else.

Thanks to everyone who came out to see us, and welcome to all of you who just found me at the show! I hope to see you all again next year with an even bigger and better booth. <3
